Bother not how the bygone sin
Departs:
Will not the bitter bottle-gourd,
If filled with sacred ash,
Within three days be sweet?
What if it be a butcher's knife
Which has slaughtered a long time?
Will it not turn to gold when touched
By the philosopher's stone?
O Kala Sagama Lord,
Will, then, the sin fail to fade
Whent theashmark paints the brow?

The lotus lends the water grace,
And billows to the sea ;
A woman's virtue is her grace,
The sky's the moon!
The ashmark on the brow
Lends grace to a araa
Of our Lord Kala Sagama.

Worthless the face
Lacking the horizontal ashen mark:

When a Jagama is convinced
That a bhakta is his servitor,
And a bhakta is convinced
The Jagama is his lord,
One must dismiss the doubt
Of 'come' and 'come not', is and 'is gone'.
As long as there's the sense of 'gone away',
I am cut off
From Thee and farther from Thine own,
And farther still from the iva faith!
Is but Thyself, I rest
If I'm unable to brook
Thy humble servant, Lord
The Jagama's going and his standing still,
Kala Sagama!
His bluster and his antics too,
Do Thou, O Kala Sagama Lord,
Cut off my nose at once!

An earthen pot, by cancelling its form,
Cannot be earth again;
Once melted butter turns to ghee,
The ghee, by cancelling its form,
Cannot be butter again;
By cancelling its form
Gold will not turn to iron again
The water-born pearl will not,
By cancelling its form, become
Water again:
Another act than this does not befit
Once you have been Kala Saga's araa,
Bhaktisthala: it bears a fruit!
You cannot, by cancelling your form,
To have another act than this
Become again an ordinary man!

And yearns, it will not quench

The while six billion Brahmas die,
It's only a day for Nryaa;
The while a billion Nryaa die,
It is for Rudra an eylid's wink;
When many Rudra incarnations cease,
Our Lord Kala Sagama
Knows nothing of it at all!

If you say Hari and Hara are one, will not
Moggots fall from your mouth?
There are ten deaths for Hari, and endless deaths
For Bramha! but if you know
Of any death for Hara, do tell us
Death, never a death for Him:
Ancient of days is Lord
Kala Saga!

Vishnu is action-bound, Rudra is not
Do you, Dear Sirs,
First know their ranking and then talk!
Nor listen to the wranges that they make
Unless you learn
The meaning of Vedas!.... Viu has come
Thro' several wombs, in more than lawful births:
But, tell me, in what womb did Rudra come?
'Behold the deeds of Viu, wherethrough
He hath accomplished pious acts:
Lo, Indra is his dearest friend.
Viu, the invulnerable, who protects
The universe-he took three steps
And so preserved the sacred laws.
The supreme place that Viu holds
Is glorified by those who are
Vigilant and wise and apt to praise.
Do you, O, understand
What the Revelations say!
Rest not content unless you speak
He stands ten fingures above
Your worldly lot
Lord Kala Sagama!

'I am alone the maker of the world,
But Mahwara my master is.'
You have forgotten, alas,

There is destruction for what stands,
